Jaffna Nursing School

We have been helping this school for a number of years.
During our most recent visit, we:
- Met the Principal, tutors and Mertons.
- Conducted a motivational session with nursing students.
- Met all the students who achieved merits and other awards/medals in their recent examination. We have been funding their graduation / medal ceremony for a few years.
Abayam Women School Counselling Project

This School Counselling Project covering many schools from Point Petro to Vavuniya is an excellent scheme that we have pledged to support both the programme and counsellers further.
We also met withMs Uthayakala, a retired educational officer and counsellor, who is leading this project and were lucky enough to observe her session with the students at Inuvil Hindu College.
Abayam 24/7 Mental Health / Suicidal Prevention Helpline Team

We met Abayam’s Mental Health / Suicidal Prevention Helpline Team with the lead for his team Dr Sathiyamoorthy, who is also the Director of Jaffna Teaching Hospital at Jaffna Hospital.
Following our visit, we have decided to:
- Appoint another counseller to the team to aid the current team of 2 counsellors and 5 doctors.

We support Jaffna Medical & Training Hospital by conducting mock interviews and examinations to help students prepare for their exams.
